Trade Policy & Regulations

Trade Policy and regulations are the set of policies and regulation put in place to help regulate trade in order to increase trade competitiveness, promote economic growth, increase access to and deepen and accelerate integration into the regional and multilateral trading systems.

Article 3 of the ECOWAS Revised Treaty lists the harmonisaton and coordination of national policies in the areas not limited to, trade, energy, money and finance, taxation, projects and programs, as primary objective

ECOWAS’ trade policy and regulation considerations include a Customs Code, Common Trade Policy(CTP), Common External Tariff (CET) Service Policy, and ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme (ETLS)
