ECOWAS has, over the years, enjoyed technical and financial assistance from institutions, agencies and countries many of whom are international or multinational.

The ECOWAS commission refers to those institutions, agencies and countries as partners in the development of the region.

Through their technical and financial assistance, ECOWAS is able to plan and implement its activities and program augmenting the unwavering assistance it receives from ECOWAS Member States through the ECOWAS Community Levy.

ECOWAS Aid for Trade Initiative is mainly supported by the Enhance Integrated Framework (EIF) , the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the ECOWAS Member States.
